Job description

Role overview

This leadership position is accountable for driving annual growth across the ASEAN region. The selected person will partner closely with regional and country leaders across four business lines to shape and execute the strategy that delivers expansion. The role is not intended to manage daily business operations, but it will step in where needed on exceptional matters.

Key accountabilities

  • Lead major strategic initiatives, including large-scale opportunities and deals of high strategic value such as digital and connected offerings.
  • Develop and expand business with priority strategic customers.
  • Maintain strong relationships with senior customer stakeholders and act as Honeywell’s visible representative in the country.
  • Strengthen local talent by identifying, attracting, hiring, and developing high-potential people, while supporting succession planning and inclusion.
  • Work with business and functional teams to improve succession readiness for critical roles in the region.
  • Support acquisition integration and monitor the success of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Represent the company internally with senior leadership to support investment decisions for the country.
  • Promote teamwork, best practices, shared values, and the company vision across the organization.

Functional expectations

Strategic leadership: The role requires a strong understanding of market opportunities, the ability to prioritize investment and commercial priorities, and the judgment to define Honeywell’s long-term position in the country market. Experience in the local market and culture is essential, along with an international business perspective.

Operational leadership: The person must help build a platform for growth across organic expansion, M&A, customer relationships, and commercialization approaches such as new customer acquisition, product development, and pricing. This is a hands-on leadership role that supports execution, regular business reviews, direct engagement with teams, partners, and customers, and delivery of growth targets.

Organizational leadership: The leader will build a unified, high-performing leadership group and reinforce Honeywell’s culture. A strong focus on talent development, succession, collaboration, integrity, and compliance is required. The role also involves hiring and developing key roles across Honeywell’s businesses in-country, while bringing clarity, prioritization, and structure in a complex, matrixed environment.

The position also requires designing the right organizational structure and processes to anticipate market changes and respond to customer needs. The leader must be able to influence and build relationships with senior internal stakeholders as well as external stakeholders such as C-level customers, government representatives, and local officials.

Travel requirement

The role involves travel of approximately 30% to 50% across ASEAN countries.
