Role Overview

Cadence Education is looking for a motivated Preschool Director to guide a childcare team and lead a preschool toward strong educational and business outcomes. This position suits someone with a genuine passion for young children and prior leadership experience in childcare, daycare, or early childhood education.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a secure, cheerful preschool setting that supports each child’s growth, curiosity, and well-being.
  • Oversee delivery of a high-quality curriculum and ensure it meets or surpasses national and state standards.
  • Develop positive relationships with parents, children, and staff to strengthen the school community.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 20 to 40 educators through training, evaluations, and growth planning.
  • Support enrollment growth and financial performance while keeping care quality at the center.
  • Represent the school at marketing activities and community events.
  • Ensure compliance with licensing rules, safety and sanitation requirements, and applicable federal and state laws.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring to build a strong team.

Leadership & Operations Focus

  • Deliver curriculum and learning programs that align with or exceed required standards.
  • Model professional leadership, communicate clearly, and set goals that help staff perform well.
  • Manage budgets, support enrollment targets, and balance business results with excellent care.
  • Work with parents, vendors, and community partners to strengthen school operations.
  • Keep the facility organized, safe, and compliant with all relevant requirements.

Requirements

  • Previous leadership experience in an early childhood setting with multiple classrooms and programs.
  • Ability to meet director-level licensing standards, including criminal background screening and fingerprinting.
  • One of the following qualification paths: bachelor’s degree plus at least 1 year in a supervisory role and 6+ months in group childcare; Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education plus at least 1 year in a supervisory role and 2+ years in group childcare; or an associate’s degree (or equivalent) plus at least 1 year in a supervisory role and 2+ years in group childcare.
  • Working knowledge of national and state education standards, licensing rules, fire safety, health requirements, and OSHA regulations.
  • Familiarity with USDA nutritional standards for schools.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company standards.
  • Willingness to travel and work evenings or weekends when required.
