Job description
Role Overview
The Presales Expert focusing on Health, Safety, Security, Environment (HSSE), and Sustainability plays a vital role in driving business growth by converting HSSE and sustainability requirements into viable digital solutions. This role requires close collaboration with business development, product, engineering, and delivery teams to assist with the full presales cycle: qualifying opportunities, designing solutions, developing proposals, and engaging customers.
The position demands comprehensive expertise in industrial safety, environmental management, sustainability practices, and ESG reporting standards, combined with solution consulting skills to interact effectively with various stakeholders. Acting as a key individual contributor, the expert supports clients in meeting regulatory and operational challenges through innovative digital technologies.
Responsibilities
- Engage in presales activities across the opportunity lifecycle: opportunity qualification, responding to RFPs/RFIs, delivering solution presentations, conducting proof-of-concept trials, and preparing proposals.
- Collaborate with business development and commercial teams to collect and understand client needs, and build solution proposals that add compelling value for clients in sectors such as energy, mining, manufacturing, and infrastructure.
- Prepare thorough solution documentation, technical narratives, implementation plans, and commercial input for customer proposals.
- Monitor opportunity progress and provide client, market, and competitor insights to enhance business prospects.
- Develop and maintain reusable proposal content, templates, case studies, and assets specific to HSSE and sustainability use cases.
- Drive improvements in proposal quality, presales workflows, and customer engagement processes.
- Support the creation of digital solutions for incident management, permit-to-work processes, environmental monitoring, ESG data handling, sustainability reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Translate operational and regulatory demands into practical, scalable, and deliverable digital solutions aligned with client objectives.
- Lead technical discussions by illustrating solution capabilities, business benefits, and key considerations during client meetings.
- Utilize expertise in industrial safety standards and ESG reporting frameworks to guide solution development.
- Maintain current knowledge of evolving ESG regulations, safety standards, and digital technology trends to continuously enhance solution offerings.
- Ensure proposed solutions comply with recognized standards such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, GRI, CSRD, TCFD, SEC climate disclosure rules, and other applicable regulations.
- Participate in discovery workshops, technical assessments, and presentations with stakeholders from HSE, sustainability, operations, and technical teams.
- Establish strong working relationships with customer stakeholders through consultative support and sharing industry insights related to HSSE and sustainability transformation.
- Work closely with product, engineering, delivery, and commercial teams to ensure solutions are feasible and implementation-ready.
- Facilitate smooth transition of opportunities from presales to delivery by providing thorough documentation and knowledge sharing.
- Support development and upkeep of solution assets, industry use cases, methodologies, and knowledge resources focused on HSSE and sustainability.
- Share knowledge, lessons learned, and best practices with colleagues and project teams.
- Engage in continuous improvements to boost presales effectiveness, regulatory positioning, customer experience, and solution quality.
- Stay informed on emerging regulations, sustainability trends, and industry best practices for ongoing capability enhancement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Sustainability, Engineering, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related fields.
- Professional certifications in sustainability, environmental management, occupational health and safety, ESG reporting, or relevant digital technology disciplines are preferred.
- Eight to twelve years of experience in presales, solution consulting, technical sales, digital transformation, or consulting within HSSE, EHS technology, sustainability, or similar industrial sectors.
- Proven experience supporting B2B opportunities involving HSSE, ESG, sustainability, or industrial technology solutions.
- Preference for candidates with experience working with industrial organizations in energy, mining, manufacturing, infrastructure, or related sectors.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety, environmental management, and sustainability reporting processes.
- Familiarity with key ESG reporting frameworks, including GRI, CSRD, TCFD, SEC climate disclosure requirements, and associated regulatory standards.
- Knowledgeable about industrial safety standards and management systems such as ISO 45001, ISO 14001, OSHA, and compliance frameworks.
- Ability in solution consulting, business analysis, and requirements gathering to translate client needs into actionable digital solutions.
- Excellent proposal preparation and technical documentation skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management skills with both business and technical parties.
