About the Hotel
Located in the historic Old Montreal district, the hotel sits a short walk from the Palais des Congrès and the Square-Victoria–OACI metro station. Housed in a building dating back to 1871, originally built by textile and mercery wholesaler Andrew F. Gault, the property was transformed into a luxury hotel in 2002. It features 30 suites on a quiet street close to local entertainment and is part of Preferred Hotels & Resorts. It is also ranked among Canada’s top hotels on Traveller’s Choice/TripAdvisor.
Room Attendant Role
The room attendant is responsible for maintaining guest rooms to the hotel’s cleanliness and presentation standards while supporting the overall housekeeping operation.
Main Duties
- Keep guest rooms clean and tidy by changing linens, replenishing amenities, vacuuming, dusting, wiping surfaces, and carrying out similar housekeeping tasks.
- Collect and remove trash, waste, and other disposable materials.
- Clean sinks, mirrors, dressers, bathtubs, and showers on a daily basis.
- Use cleaning products and equipment correctly and safely.
- Follow departmental policies, procedures, and service standards.
- Take on any other duties connected to the position as needed.
Working Conditions
This is a part-time position. The posted wage is $18.04 per hour.
Qualifications
- At least one year of experience in a similar role.
- Fluency in both French and English.
- Ability to stay on one’s feet for long periods and occasionally kneel or bend.
- Comfort with repetitive tasks.
- Ability to frequently lift, pull, or push loads over 30 lbs.
- Dependable, responsible, and able to work with limited supervision.
- Team-oriented and able to collaborate effectively.
- Availability to work daytime, evening, and weekend shifts.
