Job Overview

The Department of Accounting & General Services located in Downtown is urgently seeking a Pre Audit Clerk III. This role is responsible for supervising and conducting comprehensive pre-audit processes within the State's central agency. Key duties include examining all contracts before funds are certified by the comptroller, reviewing and controlling data related to electronic data processing, and overseeing clerical pre-audit tasks in a sizable department focusing on voucher and payroll compliance with applicable federal, state, and departmental regulations and policies.

Compensation

The monthly salary ranges from $4,221 to $5,338, corresponding to Salary Range 15, Steps C through I. Actual salary offered will depend on budget availability, applicant qualifications, and other relevant considerations.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Legal authorization to work in the United States as a citizen, national, permanent resident alien, or eligible under federal law.
  • Specialized experience of two years performing responsible clerical assignments involving payroll documents/forms or vouchers, invoices, and statements, demonstrating arithmetic competence, effective oral and written communication, and the ability to follow instructions.
  • Pre-audit experience of two years involving progressively responsible work vetting payroll and payment documents for accuracy, legality, and completeness.
  • Supervisory aptitude evidenced by successful completion of assignments with supervisory components, leadership roles such as team lead, supervisory training, or favorable appraisals suggesting supervisory potential.
