Job description

About the Role

We are partnering with a global leader in emissions control solutions, serving markets including off-highway, industrial, and specialized vehicles, to recruit a Power BI Developer. This role involves supporting business intelligence and reporting functions by creating and managing dashboards and reports that enhance operational decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and update interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Establish and manage data connections to SQL Server and other enterprise-level databases.
  • Build and maintain semantic data models leveraging Microsoft Fabric technology.
  • Support Power BI On-Premises infrastructure, including gateway setup and ongoing maintenance.
  • Create KPI dashboards and business intelligence reports tailored for various business units.
  • Develop and sustain modifications to Crystal Reports as needed to meet reporting requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand reporting needs and deliver effective BI solutions.
  • Diagnose and resolve reporting issues, optimize report performance, and ensure data integrity.
  • Document the processes for reporting, data modeling, and technical systems comprehensively.

Required Qualifications

  • Practical experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Hands-on knowledge of Microsoft Fabric technology.
  • Strong capability in SQL, including query writing and relational database management.
  • Experience supporting Power BI On-Premises environments with gateway configuration experience.
  • Proficiency with DAX, Power Query, data modeling, and best practices for data visualization.
  • Experience with Crystal Reports considered a plus.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Education

A degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a similar field, or relevant practical experience.

Additional Information

  • This is a T4A contract role for a fixed term of three months, with potential for extension.
  • Work location is onsite at Concord/Vaughan, Ontario, Canada, requiring five days per week attendance.
  • Candidates must be available to work on-site full-time during the contract period.
