Job description

About the company

GROPYUS is a technology-led construction business that develops multi-storey residential buildings. Its approach combines prefabricated building systems, multiple design choices, industrial off-site production, and fully digital workflows to deliver sustainable, affordable, and attractive homes built with timber construction techniques. By scaling construction and manufacturing methods, the company aims to support future market needs, strengthen Europe’s innovation capability, and contribute meaningfully to sustainability.

Role overview

The company is looking for a Power BI specialist to review, streamline, and improve an existing semantic model, data ingestion flows, and dashboards. This is a part-time engagement at 50% capacity for a dedicated project running from July to November 2026. The Power BI environment has expanded over time and now requires an experienced professional to bring structure, performance, and consistency to it.

The selected consultant will assess the current model for design and performance issues, work alongside data engineers to improve ingestion into the data lake, and refine dashboards so they are easier to use, more consistent, and more efficient. A key part of the assignment is also to establish practical standards and guidance that the internal team can continue using after the project is completed.

Responsibilities

  • Review the present semantic model, including its structure and relationships, and document how it aligns with existing ontologies and other applications.
  • Remove duplicate or unnecessary tables, views, columns, and measures from the MS Data Lake environment.
  • Improve DAX expressions that are slow, overly complex, or difficult to maintain.
  • Pinpoint issues in Microsoft-side ingestion processes and coordinate with data engineers on the necessary fixes.
  • Check that data shown in Power BI remains accurate and consistent.
  • Evaluate dashboards for usability, consistency, and performance, and recommend whether they should be consolidated or redesigned.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for semantic models and dashboard usage.
  • Develop practical Power BI guidance and best-practice standards for the team.

Requirements

  • At least 3 years of professional experience with Power BI, including model optimization and integration across data sources inside and outside the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • Hands-on ability to identify and resolve difficult formula-related problems.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing and restructuring existing BI solutions.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, especially for documentation.
  • Experience with version control or change management practices in BI environments.
  • Familiarity with Dagster, DBT, and Postgres.

Additional information

This engagement is planned from July to November 2026 and is intended as a 50% dedicated part-time project.

The company’s broader mission is to design buildings as products that can keep evolving over time while creating an affordable and compelling experience for customers. The team also emphasizes building for people while conserving planetary resources.
