Role Overview

This position offers an exciting opportunity for a postdoctoral researcher to contribute to a comprehensive neurovascular research program at UNC's Radiology - Neuroradiology department. The role involves comprehensive involvement in neuroimaging and clinical data acquisition, detailed anatomical and procedural labeling, and supporting all phases of translational and clinical research projects. The candidate will lend expertise in designing neuroimaging studies, performing advanced data analyses including artificial intelligence-driven approaches, preparing scientific manuscripts, and developing grant proposals to further enhance research productivity and funding acquisition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in comprehensive neurovascular imaging and clinical data collection and labeling.
  • Participate in the design and execution of neuroimaging research studies, including clinical and translational aspects.
  • Apply advanced analytic techniques, incorporating AI-based methodologies, to neuroimaging data.
  • Collaborate within multidisciplinary teams to advance patient-centered research and biomarker discovery.
  • Support preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant applications to strengthen research funding and dissemination.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree (PhD or MD) relevant to neuroimaging or related fields.
  • Advanced expertise in anatomical knowledge and imaging physics fundamental to neurovascular studies.

Additional Information

This is a full-time, temporary scientific appointment with an anticipated duration of 12 months starting August 24, 2026. The position works 40 hours weekly at the Chapel Hill, NC campus.
