About the Role
Become a Portfolio Manager specializing in Private Credit at AIA Investment Management, based in Singapore. Reporting directly to the Head of Private Credit, you will play a key role in managing private credit portfolios, primarily investing in funds where AIA participates as an investor or limited partner.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and source private credit fund investments, co-investments, and secondary opportunities through building and sustaining strong relationships with top-tier private credit fund managers. Maintain awareness of the investment pipeline and current market conditions.
- Develop, execute, and manage private credit investment strategies aimed at achieving superior risk-adjusted returns compared to internal benchmarks for the portfolios under your supervision.
- Lead comprehensive due diligence processes for new private credit investments—including funds, co-investments, and secondary transactions—covering credit analysis, fund manager evaluation, market research, fund structuring, negotiations, and coordination of legal, tax, operational reviews and internal approvals.
- Continuously monitor existing investments by reviewing reports, maintaining engagement with fund managers to assess investment performance and market outlook.
- Manage fund-of-fund portfolios by handling capital calls, distributions, consent requests, exposure and cashflow projections, and overseeing investment pacing and exit strategies.
- Produce analytical commentary and regular reports and respond promptly to various requests from internal stakeholders such as asset owners and group functions.
- Drive improvements in investment and compliance workflows by adopting innovative technologies and industry best practices.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members, including Analysts.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- A minimum of 8 years professional experience in investment functions, preferably within private credit or private equity funds, fund-of-funds, or direct investments.
- A university degree in finance, economics, business, or related disciplines. Certifications such as CFA or CAIA are advantageous.
- Strong quantitative and analytical capabilities with proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; familiarity with tools like eFront, iLevel, Aladdin, Bloomberg, or Python is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.
- Ability to maintain high accuracy and promptness under pressure.
