About the Role

An established alternative lending firm based in Dublin is seeking a Portfolio Manager to join their team. The company specializes in financing property development projects across Ireland and the UK, backed by high net worth and institutional investors. This pivotal role offers hands-on involvement throughout the full lifecycle of deals and direct collaboration with a seasoned senior team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage deal execution for bridging and development finance transactions from the initial credit assessment through to drawdown.
  • Prepare and critically analyse credit applications, working closely with senior decision-makers to structure and advance deals.
  • Review and draft loan and security documents, coordinating with external legal counsel as needed.
  • Cultivate and sustain strong relationships with borrowers, valuers, solicitors, and other important professionals in the market.
  • Oversee an active loan portfolio by monitoring performance, identifying potential issues promptly, and maintaining robust credit standards.
  • Assist client onboarding processes and oversee ongoing reporting responsibilities for both funders and borrowers.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and networking functions.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five years' experience in a comparable portfolio management or lending role.
  • Proven expertise in preparing and analysing credit documentation.
  • Strong background in real estate or development finance sectors.
  • Experience within an alternative lending environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree required along with excellent skills in stakeholder engagement, dealing effectively with borrowers, institutional investors, and senior management.
