Overview
Spire Methley Park invites applications for the position of Porter available on a full-time, permanent basis at their healthcare facility in Methley, Leeds. The role entails providing crucial support within the hospital environment by assisting with patient movement and supporting hospital logistics.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely transfer and escort patients throughout the hospital in a compassionate, professional manner.
- Manage collection and delivery of clean and soiled linen.
- Handle disposal of domestic and clinical waste, with full infection control training provided.
- Support mail operations including sorting and franking.
- Contribute to maintaining security of hospital premises and surrounding areas.
- Deliver flowers and newspapers as needed.
- Arrange furniture and various equipment as required.
- Assist with stock and distribution tasks in stores.
- Help with receipt, inspection, storage, and distribution of goods across the hospital.
- Perform driving duties if assigned.
- Foster positive working relationships and effective communication within the hospital and team.
- Ensure all tasks are carried out with safety as a priority.
- Complete other duties appropriate to the level and nature of the position as requested.
Candidate Profile
- No formal qualifications are necessary; however, clear communication with staff and patients is essential.
- Presenting a professional appearance aligned with healthcare standards is required.
- A valid clean driving license is mandatory.
- Previous experience in frontline customer service and similar environments is desirable.
- Ability to understand diverse customer needs and prioritize urgent tasks efficiently.
- Exemplary customer service skills and demeanor.
