Key duties

This role involves a mix of cleaning, upkeep, light maintenance, and support tasks across the property.

• Keep busy indoor and outdoor shared spaces clean through sweeping, mopping, dusting, furniture arrangement, litter pickup, and disinfection.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and mirrors to maintain a clear, polished appearance.
• Handle laundry and linen care for furnished units and amenity areas, including washing, drying, and folding.
• Maintain landscaped areas by removing litter, debris, and seasonal leaves.
• Clear drains, grates, and catch basins when required to support proper drainage.
• Deep clean vacant units so they are ready for incoming residents.
• Set up furnished units by arranging furniture, making beds, placing household items, and completing related laundry tasks.
• Dust, vacuum, and sanitize furniture in units and common spaces.
• Support winter operations by removing snow and ice from walkways, entrances, and parking areas.
• Carry out minor repairs and basic upkeep such as tightening fixtures, changing bulbs, touching up paint, and simple carpentry.
• Assist with moving and arranging furniture in common areas, amenity spaces, and rental suites.
• Prepare and maintain amenity spaces such as fitness rooms, lounges, and meeting areas.
• Manage garbage and recycling areas, including bin emptying, tidiness, and waste sorting.
• Track cleaning materials, linens, and maintenance tools to avoid shortages.
• Respond to urgent cleaning or maintenance needs as they arise.
• Work closely with property staff and management on schedules, turnover activity, and operational updates.
• Identify and report safety concerns, maintenance issues, alarms, and repair requirements across the property.
• Complete occasional firewatch patrols and help ensure fire safety procedures are followed.

What you should bring

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a physically active role.

• Prior experience in janitorial work, property maintenance, or a similar field is an advantage.
• A strong focus on cleanliness, organization, and quality standards.
• Basic handyman ability for simple repairs and general upkeep.
• Physical fitness to manage lifting, moving furniture, snow removal, and other demanding tasks.
• Good planning and time management skills, with the ability to work on your own.
• Clear communication skills for coordinating with residents, colleagues, and supervisors.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is CAD 17.40 to CAD 21.00 per hour.
