Porter

Job Overview

The Porter will ensure that all designated warehouse areas are maintained in a clean and safe condition for employees and customers. This role involves addressing any hazardous spills or substances, maintaining sanitation and cleaning logs daily, and ensuring cleaning equipment complies with HACCP standards. The Porter may also perform additional tasks as assigned by branch management, such as minor painting, cleaning wet pallets, and lighting maintenance.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform sweeping of both interior and exterior premises of the building.
• Clean and maintain all restrooms within the facility regularly.
• Clean windows, doors, and the coffee area as required.
• Manage and maintain all trash containers throughout the premises.
• Operate machinery such as trash compactors, cardboard balers, and floor scrubbers when necessary.
• Handle spill cleanups promptly in the warehouse to prevent hazards.
• Maintain cleanliness in employee break rooms according to schedule.
• Support department managers with aisle cleaning activities as needed.
• Verify compliance with HACCP guidelines and complete sanitation logs as required.
• Provide assistance with various duties as directed by management.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Effective communication abilities.
• Basic knowledge of sanitation principles.
• Familiarity or ability to learn operation of floor machines, balers, and compactors is advantageous.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds.
