Position Summary
We are looking for an experienced Port Captain to join our team in a full-time, on-site capacity based in Al Khobar, Eastern Saudi Arabia. This role involves managing daily marine and vessel operations with a strong focus on optimizing performance and ensuring compliance with international regulations and company policies. The Port Captain will conduct vessel inspections, supervise maintenance procedures, manage crew operations, and coordinate port activities with various departments and external parties to ensure smooth workflows and operational excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate maritime operations and vessel activities to maximize efficiency.
- Conduct thorough inspections and oversee routine maintenance to ensure vessel readiness and safety compliance.
- Manage vessel performance, crewing, and technical operations to address challenges promptly.
- Collaborate effectively with stakeholders to guarantee seamless port and marine services.
- Maintain operational standards aligned with international maritime protocols and company guidelines.
Required Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum of four years experience as a Master on Non-DP Crew Boats or Offshore Security Patrol Boats.
- Certified to act as a temporary Master at any time, subject to a Saudi Aramco assessment.
- Possession of certificate of competency and endorsement, GMDSS certification, and all relevant STCW certificates including medical care.
- Valid passport and seaman book with recent sea time, each valid for at least six months.
- Completion of Marlins test with at least 80% score and corresponding online validation.
- Current medical fitness certificate valid for a minimum of three months.
- Completed H2S familiarization, BOSIET, and HUET courses.
- Previous Saudi Aramco approvals as a Master or Port Captain for crew or patrol boats.
- Solid expertise in marine operations and maritime regulations.
- Experience managing vessel operations, logistics coordination, and ensuring operational efficiency.
- Proven ability to conduct vessel inspections maintaining safety and compliance standards.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities for effective team and stakeholder management.
- Bachelor's degree in Maritime Studies, Naval Architecture, or a closely related discipline.
- Prior experience in the maritime, shipping, or logistics industry is highly advantageous.
