Job description
Overview
Devon and Cornwall Police are recruiting Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) to provide a consistent and effective presence within local communities. The primary goal of this role is to identify community concerns, respond with appropriate action, and support the delivery of neighborhood policing aimed at maintaining safety, order, and engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver a visible and approachable presence through uniformed patrols on foot or bicycle.
- Utilize intelligence to identify and address community issues proactively, following the force's community engagement policies.
- Collaborate with local communities and partner organizations to resolve problems, enhancing the environment and quality of life.
- Maintain close working relationships within Neighbourhood Policing Teams (NPTs) to support policing objectives.
- Help ensure communication channels keep communities informed, understood, and protected.
Requirements and Work Conditions
- Standard working week consists of 37 hours, with potential flexibility and part-time arrangements considered based on operational needs.
- The role is primarily based at various locations including Exeter Police Station, Barnstaple, Bodmin, Brixham, Devonport Police Station, Fore Street, Exmouth, Falmouth, Helston, Ivybridge, Kingsbridge, Launceston, Liskeard, Newquay, Newton Abbot, Penzance, Plymouth, Crownhill, Plympton, St Ives, Torbay Business Park, Paignton, and Truro.
