Role Summary
This position is for an experienced poker dealer who can run games smoothly, accurately, and in line with house standards and gaming regulations. The role is based on-site in Daventry and requires a full-time commitment, including availability for evenings, weekends, and public holidays when required.
Key Duties
- Deal poker hands efficiently and with precision while keeping to internal rules and regulatory requirements.
- Shuffle, distribute cards, and manage the flow of each game so the table remains active and orderly.
- Track bets and pots, work out winnings, and pay out correctly.
- Maintain a steady game pace while observing player behaviour and table activity.
- Explain game rules clearly and answer player questions in a professional and approachable manner.
- Handle disputes calmly and help create a friendly, respectful atmosphere at the table.
- Coordinate with floor staff and cash desk colleagues to keep operations running efficiently and ensure table transactions are accurate.
Skills and Experience
The ideal candidate will bring strong people skills, a customer-focused approach, and the confidence to communicate clearly in a busy gaming environment. Good numeracy, attention to detail, and solid cash-handling ability are important, along with the ability to stay focused, fair, and composed during live play. Previous exposure to casino, hospitality, or gaming environments is helpful, and formal dealer training or certification would be an advantage.
