Role Overview

The Podcast Editor will handle audio editing and production to deliver polished episodes that resonate with Focus On Women's mission. The position requires ensuring consistent sound quality and narrative clarity aligned with the organization's values.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit and mix as many as four podcast episodes monthly, focusing on audio-only content.
• Integrate intros, outros, and music, while refining audio quality.
• Upload episodes to hosting platforms and craft concise show notes.
• Create short audio clips suitable for social media sharing.

Required Qualifications

• Proficient in audio editing and mixing using digital audio workstations such as Audacity, Adobe Audition, Pro Tools, or Reaper.
• Experience in sound design and enhancements including noise reduction, equalization, compression, and mastering tailored for spoken-word formats.
• Knowledge of podcast production workflows, organizing raw recordings, structuring episodes, and preparing files for distribution.
• Effective project and time management skills to meet deadlines and juggle multiple episodes within a remote team setting.
• Excellent communication abilities enabling receptive collaboration, adherence to directions, and constructive creative input in a mission-centered, diverse team environment.
• Familiarity with the commercial photography, production, or creative sectors is advantageous, as is prior involvement in editing interview or narrative podcasts.
• Stable internet connection, comfortable use of online collaboration technology, and dedication to advancing female-identifying creatives and inclusive stories.
