About the Role
Become an integral member of the City of Canterbury Bankstown’s City Clean Team, contributing to the upkeep of safe, presentable streets and public areas. This full-time position involves operating street cleaning equipment during night hours to ensure cleanliness across public roads, town centres, and council properties. Your efforts will aid in debris, litter, and waste removal, enhancing public safety and environmental quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate street cleaning machinery and vehicles following scheduled routines.
- Maintain streets and footpaths free from debris, litter, and leaves.
- Conduct thorough pre-operation and post-operation inspections on all equipment and vehicles.
- Utilize blowers and relevant tools to support cleaning tasks.
- Address emergency cleaning demands promptly.
- Document and communicate issues such as large debris, vandalism, hazardous substances, or maintenance needs.
- Adhere strictly to safety regulations, including Heavy Vehicle National Law and Chain of Responsibility guidelines.
- Engage professionally and courteously with community members when necessary.
Candidate Profile
- Hold a valid Class MR Driver’s Licence.
- Possess experience in operating plant machinery, vehicles, or equipment within operational contexts.
- Capable of performing routine maintenance and equipment checks before and after operations.
- Efficient in following schedules and meeting task deadlines.
- Strong attention to detail and safety principles.
- Able to react swiftly to urgent cleaning requests.
- Experience documenting operational concerns clearly.
- Familiarity with street sweeper vehicles is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility compliance is advantageous.
