Job description
About Foodstuffs North Island Limited
Foodstuffs is a fully New Zealand owned and run organisation, consisting of two regional co-operatives plus a central hub that drives national marketing, brand management, and customer experience strategies. Our portfolio includes some of New Zealand's most respected and trusted brands.
Role Overview
We're looking for a passionate Planning and Insights Executive to join our Customer & Intelligence team. In this position, you'll transform data into meaningful insights that influence business performance, guide market success, and inform future product strategies. You'll play a vital role in ensuring our well-known brands—PAK’nSAVE, New World, and Four Square—remain responsive to our customers' evolving needs by uncovering actionable insights that enhance loyalty and improve customer experience.
Core Responsibilities
- Analyze a broad spectrum of customer, competitor, and market data to deliver actionable insights that shape strategic directions and annual trading plans.
- Enhance customer insight efforts around key trading periods, including Christmas, ensuring alignment with each brand's strategy.
- Assist in building a campaign insights framework to evaluate customer behavior before and after campaigns and their market impact.
- Advocate for data-driven approaches by collaborating with various teams to solve business issues and integrate insights into decision-making.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and deliver impactful insights that foster customer loyalty.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have prior experience in insights, research, or strategic roles, demonstrating a strong ability to convert data into strategic opportunities. Although experience in retail or FMCG sectors is advantageous, a genuine passion for customer behavior analysis and driving decisions based on insights is essential. You must be an effective collaborator, able to manage diverse stakeholder expectations and thrive in fast-moving environments. A curious and problem-solving attitude will empower you to champion customer insights and contribute to creating exceptional customer experiences.
Benefits Offered
- Complimentary parking with over 1,000 spaces, including 36 electric vehicle charging plugs.
- Southern Cross health insurance coverage.
- Access to an onsite café with subsidized meals, a mini mart, and a 5% discount at our retail stores.
- Flexible work arrangements, a day off for your birthday, and long service leave.
- In-house learning and development programs, flu vaccinations, and social groups called Tribes.

We embrace diversity and inclusion, encouraging everyone to bring their unique strengths to our Foodies family. We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, including those with disabilities, additional health or mental health needs, and neurodiversion. Accessibility support is available upon request to ensure a fair recruitment process.
