Job description
About the company
BFL Group is a major off-price retail business specializing in fashion and homeware. Headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, the company operates across more than six markets in the Middle East and Europe. Its business began in Lebanon in 1996 with the launch of the Brands For Less concept and expanded to the UAE in 2000.
The organization focuses on giving customers exciting finds at highly discounted prices, sometimes reaching up to 80% below original retail value for fashion designer brands. Its stores are designed around a discovery-led shopping experience, where every visit can bring new surprises. Over time, the group expanded through brands and franchise rights including Tchibo across the MENA region, Toys For Less, MUMUSO in Lebanon, Malta and Spain, and Muy Mucho in the UAE, KSA and Malta. The company also continues to grow its e-commerce presence for a broader global audience.
Role overview
The Senior Planner will play a key role in shaping analysis and planning for a fast-growing retail business. This position works closely with buying, logistics, IT, accounts and store teams to review performance, improve stock flow and support sales growth.
Key responsibilities
- Track open-to-buy movement and share weekly updates with the buying team and management, highlighting changes needed based on sales patterns and incoming merchandise.
- Study seasonal demand shifts such as Christmas, Back-to-School, Eid and super sale periods, then recommend stock cover levels, accelerated ordering and inventory transfers between online and retail channels.
- Prepare weekly visibility reports on brand and sub-category assortment across each division, covering stores, in-transit stock and head office inventory.
- Work with the inventory team to maintain enough warehouse stock for daily store replenishment and coordinate with the junior planner for accurate in-transit status updates.
- Monitor online product supply to ensure the approved quantities are transferred to e-commerce and recommend stock movement between online and physical retail as needed.
- Review store profiles every quarter and suggest updates based on average selling price, sales density, flip rate and other KPIs such as conversion, shopper yield, average transaction value and units per transaction.
- Spot aged inventory across the business, ensure monthly markdown execution across all stores, and review markdown lists for irregularities.
- Work with buyers and category managers to flag slow-moving groups or SKUs so they can be avoided in future buying decisions.
- Publish weekly territory-level dashboards covering sales and inventory performance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree is required.
- At least 5 years of experience in planning or retail analysis, ideally within apparel or footwear.
- Working knowledge of business intelligence tools such as Power BI or Tableau will be an advantage.
- Strong command of MS Excel and working familiarity with other MS Office applications.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work well in a team, handle multiple priorities and perform under pressure with minimal supervision.
- Good organizational ability, including prioritization, independent judgment, practical decision-making and initiative.
