What you will do

  • Shape litigation strategy and prepare key court materials, including pleadings, motion records, certification materials, and settlement documents.
  • Appear in court for certification hearings, appeals, and trial proceedings.
  • Advise clients on litigation risks, opportunities, and strategic options.
  • Work alongside overseas and cross-border legal teams on international files.
  • Build and preserve strong working relationships with class members, experts, co-counsel, and other stakeholders.
  • Stay current on class action developments and relevant case law.

Qualifications

  • A Juris Doctor or Bachelor of Laws degree, together with active membership in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario.
  • Between 2 and 10 years of litigation experience involving Canada’s Class Proceedings Act.
  • Proven experience in plaintiff-side class actions or mass tort litigation.
  • Well-developed courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and file management skills.
  • Strong drafting, legal research, and analytical capabilities.
  • Self-starting approach and genuine interest in developing a class actions practice.
