Role Overview

This is a full-time, on-site position in Puducherry for a Placement Officer. The role is centred on creating and nurturing relationships with employers and industry stakeholders to open up placement opportunities for learners enrolled in different programs. The person in this role will coordinate campus recruitment activities, align candidates with suitable openings, and monitor placement outcomes along with related reporting. The position also involves providing career support such as resume assistance and interview preparation, as well as arranging training sessions that improve employability and workplace readiness. Close coordination with trainers, academic collaborators, and internal teams is important to ensure training stays aligned with market expectations and learners move smoothly from training into employment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage relationships with employers and industry partners to generate placement opportunities.
  • Plan and execute campus recruitment drives and maintain placement records accurately.
  • Identify suitable job matches for learners across different programs.
  • Track placement results and prepare related reports.
  • Offer career guidance, including support with goal setting, resume building, and interview preparation.
  • Organize and facilitate training sessions that strengthen employability and soft skills.
  • Work closely with trainers, academic partners, and internal stakeholders to align outcomes with industry needs.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Hands-on experience in campus placements and employer relationship management.
  • Comfort in coordinating recruitment activities and maintaining placement documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to counsel learners on careers and support them in preparing for interviews.
  • Experience in training or facilitation, particularly in soft skills or employability skills, preferably within education or skilling environments.
  • Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; degrees in Management, Social Work, Education, or related fields are preferred.
  • Ability to handle diverse learner groups, placement goals, and multiple stakeholder expectations.
  • Good organizational ability and reporting skills, with basic MS Office or similar tool proficiency.
  • Experience in placement, recruitment, or career services in the education or skilling sector will be an added advantage.
