Position Overview

Marlborough School is seeking a creative, technically proficient, and community-oriented Photographer/Videographer to join its Communications Office. This role is crucial for producing and managing high-quality photographic and video content that vividly portrays the Marlborough experience across the school's digital platforms, publications, and official communications. In close collaboration with the communications team, this position will significantly contribute to shaping the school's visual identity by artfully and intentionally documenting student life, academic programs, performing and fine arts, athletic events, traditions, and various community gatherings.

Essential Job Functions

  • Serve as the primary photographer and videographer for the school, capturing a wide range of events, programs, and campus moments throughout the year.
  • Consistently document student life, academics, athletics, arts, special events, and institutional milestones with a focus on quality and narrative strength.
  • Provide prompt photo and video support for time-sensitive communications and social media needs, demonstrating flexibility to capture campus events as they occur.
  • Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications Specialist to create engaging visual content for platforms like Instagram, including short-form videos and Reels.

Post-Production and Editing

  • Edit and retouch photographs for optimal use across web, social media, print, and email channels.
  • Manage video post-production, from initial footage to final delivery, encompassing color correction, audio mixing, motion graphics, titling, and exporting in various formats and aspect ratios.
  • Ensure a consistent visual style and aesthetic that aligns with the Marlborough brand guidelines.

Asset Management

  • Maintain an organized, searchable, and easily accessible library of photographic and video assets using the school's Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, Canto.
  • Regularly review and update the asset library to ensure content is current, properly categorized, and meets institutional requirements.

Project Support

  • Partner closely with various departments across campus to plan and execute content creation that supports communication objectives.
  • Assist with visual enhancements and updates to the school's website.
  • Support the Communications Office in monitoring and managing project timelines and deliverables.
