Job description
Role overview
This full-time, salaried, exempt position reports to the Content Director and is based in Milwaukee, WI. The role is hybrid, with at least 3 days each week required on-site at the Milwaukee headquarters. It is open only to local candidates, and relocation support is not available.
Wantable is a personalization-driven retail company that blends data, intuition, and technology to create curated shopping experiences. The team is looking for a versatile creative professional who can move seamlessly between photography, video, design, editing, and content creation, with a strong sense of what performs across channels. This is not a single-discipline role; it combines the instincts of a photographer, designer, and content creator into one modern creative position.
What the role involves
In this role, you will produce polished on-figure and off-figure imagery and video for e-commerce, paid media, and social channels. You will create content that is ready to publish across platforms such as Meta and TikTok, and at times may also support live selling efforts. The work spans both mobile and professional camera setups, with a focus on producing visually strong, platform-native assets that improve brand presence and business performance.
You will work closely with the Content Director, Production & Photo Studio Manager, and Sr. Director of Marketing & Creative in a fast-paced studio environment. The job calls for someone who takes initiative, thinks strategically, and helps shape direction rather than only following instructions. You should be comfortable building shoots, directing talent, testing AI-powered workflows, designing campaigns, and contributing ideas that move the creative forward.
Time allocation
- 50% Photography and video/motion production
- 30% Creative and ad design
- 15% AI innovation and workflow development
- 5% Social content and live selling
These percentages are approximate and may shift based on production cycles, campaigns, and business needs.
Key responsibilities
You will be responsible for end-to-end photo and video production, creative ad design, social-first content, AI-enabled workflow improvement, and cross-functional collaboration. The role also includes proactive creative leadership, performance-informed iteration, and occasional support for live commerce activities.
Additional notes
Other duties may be assigned as needed, and responsibilities can change at any time with or without notice.
Work environment and role expectations
The position requires work in studio, office, and production settings. You must be able to remain stationary or move around production spaces for extended periods, lift and move equipment when needed, operate photography/video/computer tools, visually assess creative and production quality, appear on camera for social and live content, adapt to changing schedules and priorities, and travel occasionally for off-site shoots if required.
Requirements
The ideal candidate brings 5-8+ years of relevant experience in fashion, e-commerce, or commercial photography and videography, along with exposure to performance creative, ad design, and social content. Strong portfolios should show on-figure and off-figure work, sound creative judgment, and content that has delivered measurable results. Experience and impact matter more than exact tenure.
You should have strong command of lighting, composition, on-set direction, Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Capture One, motion tools, AI-based creative tools, digital asset management, and metadata tagging. Comfort on camera is important, including the ability to host or appear in TikTok Live selling sessions and other social content. You should also understand how creative decisions influence metrics such as CTR, CVR, CAC, engagement, and retention.
The role favors people who work well with minimal oversight, can build shot lists independently, make confident creative calls, and maintain a balance between speed, quality, and output volume. A builder mindset, openness to new tools, creative conviction, adaptability, and a strong curiosity about AI are essential.
Preferred additions include experience in art direction or creative direction, AI-integrated production workflows, set design or prop styling, live commerce, and a solid grasp of the relationship between creative execution and conversion performance.
