Role Overview

This opening is for Phoenix, a returnship initiative for women who are re-entering the workforce after a career break. The program is based in Bengaluru and follows an onsite work model. It runs for six months and is designed to provide a supportive path back into professional life.

Responsibilities

  • Support the buying and merchandising function while contributing to team goals and business objectives.
  • Help shape buying approaches that improve assortment planning, pricing decisions, and promotional execution to support sales and margin outcomes.
  • Work with vendors and internal teams to align commercial terms and coordinate timely movement of merchandise.
  • Use market movement, customer behavior, and competitor analysis to guide product choice and assortment decisions.
  • Track inventory, sales, and profitability to spot gaps and recommend practical improvements.
  • Assist in merchandising efforts that improve product visibility and strengthen conversion and customer satisfaction.
  • Review sales figures, customer inputs, and market signals to refine buying and merchandising actions as needed.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree from NIFT, Pearl, a buying and merchandising program, or a related discipline.
  • 4 to 8 years of experience in buying and merchandising, ideally in retail or e-commerce.
  • Strong analytical ability with the skill to interpret data, identify patterns, and make informed decisions.
  • Good communication and negotiation skills for working with stakeholders and vendors effectively.
  • Hands-on ability with Microsoft Excel, data analysis tools, and merchandising systems.
  • Capability to manage several priorities at once and deliver within deadlines in a fast-paced setting.
  • Understanding of retail math, inventory control, pricing, and merchandising fundamentals.

Program Details

This is a returnship program for women who are resuming their careers after a break. The assignment is onsite in Bengaluru and lasts for 6 months. The experience is designed to support re-entry into the workforce through guided learning, mentoring, and meaningful work exposure.
