  • You need excellent written communication skills to deliver clear, concise, and helpful feedback.

  • Previous experience reviewing for academic journals is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort with online manuscript submission and peer-review platforms is important.

Key responsibilities

  • Judge whether the submission introduces original ideas or meaningfully expands knowledge in the field.
  • Review the research design and methodology for suitability, completeness, and clarity, with an eye on reproducibility.
  • Check that the manuscript reflects current and relevant scholarship through an appropriate literature review.

  • Offer constructive, specific feedback that points out weaknesses, missing details, and any ethical issues.
  • Make a recommendation on publication suitability, understanding that the final decision rests with the journal editor.
