About PharmacyStore
PharmacyStore Ireland is a community-focused pharmacy group operating five stores with over 60 employees. The company is deeply embedded in its local communities and committed to delivering outstanding healthcare and services to its customers and their families. The current opportunity is based at Ballycasey Pharmacy, Shannon, Co. Clare and is a full-time onsite position.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow all pharmacy practices, procedures, and regulatory requirements including laws and ethics related to dispensing medicines.
- Comply with Pharmacy Society of Ireland (PSI) controls and operate within regulatory frameworks.
- Maintain accurate computer records and ensure all documentation related to various pharmacy schemes is current and aligned with company policies.
- Manage stock control effectively by rotating stock, keeping appropriate stock levels, using correct suppliers, and verifying delivery details as directed by the managing pharmacist.
- Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the dispensary to standards established by the managing pharmacist and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Operate all pharmacy schemes on time and accurately submit reports as required.
- Understand the boundaries of the Pharmacy Technician role and identify when to seek referral or escalation.
- Receive, document, and assemble prescriptions, issue receipts, and collaborate with pharmacists to address complex or changed prescriptions.
- Provide appropriate advice and recommendations for over-the-counter medicines, consulting the pharmacist when necessary.
- Ensure precision during dispensing by monitoring and minimizing errors.
- Deliver professional and efficient customer service aligned with PharmacyStore's standards; escalate issues to Duty Managers when needed.
- Contribute ideas for customer service improvements and assist with over-the-counter sales and other customer-facing duties.
- Develop strong collaborative relationships with pharmacy team members to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Engage actively in training and development initiatives provided by the pharmacy, demonstrating ownership of personal growth and competence to fulfill assigned functions.
- Build expertise in pharmacy schemes and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, ensuring clarity and regular updates.
- Take responsibility for specific projects or initiatives as assigned and collaborate as a team member to support organizational goals.
- Understand the pharmacy business context, contribute to the broader PharmacyStore Group operations, and provide support across different locations when required.
- Recognize the financial implications of decisions and actions and work within budgetary considerations.
Qualifications and Other Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician Qualification is preferred.
- Minimum of three years’ work experience in a pharmacy setting is required.
- Strong customer focus with the ability to provide excellent service.
- Capable of working independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
