Role Purpose and Responsibilities

The Pharmacy Manager will oversee all pharmacy operations including customer consultations, medication dispensing, and dispensary management while ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks.

  • Greet customers approaching the pharmacy warmly and professionally.
  • Operate strictly within federal and provincial laws and regulations.
  • Uphold privacy and confidentiality, managing consent appropriately.
  • Provide counseling on medications, including prescriptions and over-the-counter products.
  • Engage fully in delivering professional services within expanded scope capabilities.
  • Maintain clear visibility and availability to the public as a pharmacy representative.
  • Verify all dispensed prescriptions for accuracy and suitability.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive customer care.
  • Keep thorough documentation in line with legal standards and company policies.
  • Manage dispensary access to safeguard inventory and patient information.
  • Monitor workflow queues daily to optimize pharmacy operations.
  • Regularly check and clear 'will call' bins following Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Review inventory for expired products and ensure adequate stock levels by managing wholesaler orders.
  • Comply with Controlled Drugs and Substances Act requirements, including reporting obligations.
  • Maintain professional appearance and cleanliness of pharmacy workstations and customer areas.
  • Engage with financial reporting as relevant to the role.
  • Respond to internal communications and file incident reports regarding medication or privacy issues.

Compensation

Hourly wage ranges from $49.75 to $64.35, depending on experience, knowledge, and geographic location.
