Role Overview
The Pest Management Technician (PMU) position is a full-time role based on-site in Greater Dublin. Responsibilities include conducting thorough inspections at client locations to detect pest presence, entry points, and risk factors, followed by applying treatments compliant with company policies and regulatory standards. Daily activities involve deploying and monitoring traps or bait stations, performing routine visits, documenting observations and treatments, and generating detailed service reports. Customer interactions require clear communication about treatment processes, safety measures, and preventive advice delivered in a professional and courteous manner.
The technician must adhere to health and safety protocols, maintain company tools and vehicles in good condition, and engage in regular training sessions to maintain certifications and enhance technical expertise.
Key Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of relevant pest control certification or PMU license, or eligibility to obtain one.
- Familiarity with common pests, treatment techniques, and associated regulations.
- Experience in field service roles, facilities management, or related technical trades, preferably within pest control or environmental services sectors.
- Capability to interpret treatment plans accurately, maintain precise service documentation, and produce clear written reports for both internal records and client communication.
- Excellent communication abilities and customer service orientation, able to simplify technical content and manage expectations effectively.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving aptitude, and the ability to work independently while following schedules and company guidelines.
- Adaptability to work in diverse environments including indoor, outdoor, and confined spaces with adherence to safety requirements.
- Valid driver's license with willingness to travel extensively within Greater Dublin and nationwide as required.
- Flexible work schedule readiness, including early mornings, occasional evenings, and commitment to continuous professional development through training.
