About the Role
This full-time, on-site position is part of a global pest control organization serving residential customers in Owensboro, Kentucky. The work focuses on inspecting homes, identifying pest issues, applying safe and approved treatment methods, and helping customers maintain pest-free properties. What You’ll Do
- Inspect residential properties carefully to spot infestation signs, damage, and possible pest entry points.
- Use approved pest management tools and products such as chemicals, baits, and traps while following safety standards.
- Explain prevention practices to customers and share guidance on reducing the chance of future pest problems.
- Develop customer relationships, confirm and organize appointments, support selling to existing customers, and help bring in new business.
- Keep pest control tools and equipment maintained, organized, stocked, and ready for use.
- Follow all applicable local, state, and federal rules related to pest control products and safety procedures.
- Operate a company-provided service vehicle safely; routine maintenance is handled by the employer.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands
- Work may involve tight or confined areas such as basements, attics, crawl spaces, narrow aisles, and passageways.
- You may be exposed to animals, insects, termites, mechanical parts, vehicles, electricity, heights, scaffolding, fumes, dust, and chemicals; training is provided for safe handling.
- The role requires indoor and outdoor work in local weather conditions, with company-provided weather gear.
- Expect frequent movement including sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and using stairs, ladders, ramps, scaffolding, and poles.
- Personal protective equipment, including an OSHA-compliant respirator, must be worn when required.
What We’re Looking For
- A clean-shaven face is required for safety because rebreathers must seal properly.
- A high school diploma or GED, or an equivalent mix of education, experience, and training.
- A valid driver’s license from the state of residence.
- Any licenses or certificates required by federal, state, or local regulations; these are covered by the employer.
- Availability to work Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed.
- Willingness to learn and become well-versed in all areas of pest control.
- Strong reading, writing, and verbal communication abilities.
- Basic math skills for following product-mixing directions on labels.
- Customer-facing experience is preferred.
