About the role

This senior leadership position gives you full responsibility for the personal tax team, including department strategy, client work, and people development. It is an important opportunity for an experienced tax leader to influence performance, raise client satisfaction, and support business growth.

• Deliver specialist personal tax advice to high-value private clients.
• Guide and develop a team of senior tax professionals to support strong operational outcomes.
• Spot opportunities for growth and lead business development activity.
• Maintain compliance with quality controls and risk management standards.
• Improve efficiency across the tax function and promote the use of digital solutions.
• Partner with colleagues in other service lines to uncover cross-selling opportunities.

Candidate profile

The right person will be a confident tax specialist with strong leadership ability and substantial experience in personal tax advisory and compliance. Success in this role depends on the ability to manage valuable client relationships and steer the department’s strategic direction.

Mandatory requirements

• ATT, CTA, ACA, ACCA, CA, or an equivalent qualification, or significant experience in personal tax.
• A solid background in personal tax advisory and compliance work in practice.
• Experience handling private client portfolios and creating bespoke solutions.
• Strong business development capability with evidence of fee growth.
• Leadership experience, ideally including mentoring senior team members.
• Ability to introduce efficiencies and new approaches to tax processes.

Preferred experience

• Familiarity with digital tax software and automation techniques.
• Proven ability in recruitment and workforce planning.
• Experience presenting to clients or leading seminars.
• Exposure to large or multi-region tax assignments.
