This team advises on legal and insurance matters, supports the BASF Group’s Compliance & Integrity program, and brings together all topics related to protection and security. The group works globally and aims to stay close to internal clients through hands-on support and expert guidance.

Your role

In this position, you are responsible for carrying out operational personal protection assignments in Germany and abroad. You will directly safeguard and support protected individuals during appointments, travel, and events, and ensure they can move safely and securely.

  • You handle escort and transport duties as part of personal protection, including pick-up and drop-off services as well as additional trips depending on the situation, always with close attention to security requirements.
  • You assess routes from a security perspective, plan them in advance, and adjust them flexibly when conditions change.
  • You implement protection and operational concepts according to internal standards and apply them appropriately in live situations.
  • You identify, examine, and evaluate risks and threat scenarios, conduct structured situation assessments, and initiate suitable countermeasures.
  • You remain composed and effective even when facing physical or mental pressure.
  • You document missions carefully, take care of reporting and notification duties, and contribute to improving protection concepts and internal security standards.

Requirements

To be considered, you should have a completed vocational qualification at least at DQR/EQR level 4, ideally in a security- or operations-related field such as police, armed forces, justice, emergency services, or private security, or an equivalent higher qualification. Alternatively, several years of relevant experience in professional personal protection and a clear understanding of operational work beyond simple driving duties are required.

  • You have successfully passed the required certification under Section 34a GewO and the weapons proficiency qualification under Section 7 WaffG, together with solid personal protection training and professional driver training.
  • You bring experience in evaluating risks and threat situations and can analyze information in a structured way to make safe decisions in dynamic environments.
  • You communicate very well in German and have English skills at least at B1 level, ideally B2, for an international setting.
  • You are highly reliable and trustworthy, and you are prepared to undergo reliability checks and background screening.
  • You are willing to participate in medical, physical fitness, and psychological assessments.
  • You show strong responsibility, independence, discretion, and resilience, and you are ready for frequent travel and flexible working times.
  • You hold a Class B driving license, have extensive driving experience, and behave safely in dynamic driving situations.

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation under the chemical industry collective agreement, plus a variable performance bonus.
  • Company pension provision, employer-funded long-term care insurance, employee share program, and value account.
  • Collective future benefit, which can be used for options such as a job bike or extra time off.
  • Support for childcare, including a company daycare facility and holiday programs.
  • Fitness and health center access, along with a medical center offering a wide range of health services.
  • Access to inspiring networks for developing and implementing your own ideas, such as Women in BASF.
  • Mentoring programs and learning opportunities for your professional and personal growth.
  • Career paths that allow you to grow into other specialist roles within the company, including job rotation.
  • Discounted Germany ticket as a job ticket, job bike, and charging stations for private electric vehicles.
