Job description
About the organisation
The employer is a leading provider of outside school hours care across Australia, focused on creating engaging, entertaining, and enriching experiences for children before school, after school, and during school holidays.
About the role
This permanent educator position is based in Morayfield, Queensland. The role is varied, fast-paced, and people-focused, offering the chance to work with a supportive team while contributing to children’s growth and wellbeing in an OSHC environment.
Working hours
- Before-school shifts: 7:00am to 9:00am
- After-school shifts: 2:30pm to 6:30pm
- Optional school-holiday shifts of 6 to 8 hours
- Shift length and exact timing may differ depending on the service
What you will do
You will help deliver fun, safe, and engaging care experiences for children aged 5 to 12 years. The role includes participating in excursions, incursions, themed days, and hands-on creative activities while working closely with colleagues to support the day-to-day running of the service.
What we are looking for
The ideal candidate enjoys working with children, brings energy and a team-first attitude, and communicates well with children, parents, and coworkers. Previous experience in before-and-after-school care or education is helpful but not essential, as training and development support are available.
Qualifications and checks
You will need, or be willing to obtain, a valid working with children check for your state or territory. A Certificate III or Diploma in an ACECQA-approved qualification is required, or you must be actively working toward one.
Growth and support
Training is available to help build career pathways in OSHC, including Director of Service job-ready development. The role may also suit students who want flexibility during the middle of the day for study.
Child safety and workplace values
Child safety is treated as the highest priority. Recruitment includes background checks, reference checks, and screening to help ensure every employee is suitable to work with children. The workplace values equality, diversity, and continuous improvement, with a strong commitment to protecting every child’s wellbeing.
Additional benefits
Employees may receive discounted care for their own children.
