About the Role

MATTE Projects is seeking a People & Talent Coordinator to join our expanding team and provide comprehensive support throughout the employee lifecycle. Reporting directly to the Head of People & Talent, this position is crucial for attracting, hiring, onboarding, and supporting the skilled professionals who contribute to our success. The role is structured with approximately 80% dedicated to talent acquisition and recruiting operations, and the remaining 20% focused on People Operations, employee experience, and HR administration. This is an ideal opportunity for an emerging professional in the People domain to establish a robust foundation in both recruiting and HR, while gaining broad exposure within a fast-paced creative agency environment.

Talent Acquisition & Recruiting

  • Assist with recruitment efforts across creative, strategy, production, client services, operations, and corporate departments.
  • Identify and source potential candidates through platforms like LinkedIn, Behance, Dribbble, Vimeo, professional networks, and other talent acquisition channels.
  • Initiate candidate contact and arrange interview schedules.
  • Manage the coordination of interviews and maintain communication with candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Collaborate with hiring managers and the Head of People & Talent on interview strategies, feedback consolidation, and hiring decisions.
  • Develop job descriptions, interview guides, candidate outreach messages, and offer letters.
  • Cultivate and maintain talent pipelines to meet current and future staffing requirements.
  • Monitor recruiting performance metrics and ensure data accuracy within the Greenhouse system.
  • Contribute to ensuring a positive and high-touch candidate experience from initial contact to offer acceptance.

People Operations & Employee Experience

  • Oversee the onboarding process for new employees and freelancers, ensuring a smooth integration from day one.
  • Administer HR information systems, including Justworks and other People-related platforms.
  • Support various stages of the employee lifecycle, such as onboarding, offboarding, promotions, transfers, and related documentation.
  • Provide assistance with benefits administration and address employee inquiries concerning benefits, paid time off, and company policies.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure adherence to all federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Support performance review cycles, employee engagement initiatives, and ongoing People programs.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of employee events, cultural activities, and office experience programs.
  • Assist in documenting, refining, and scaling People processes to accommodate company growth.

Qualifications

  • Possess 1 to 3 years of experience in recruiting, People Operations, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, or a similar field.
  • Ability to work from our Soho, New York office Monday through Thursday, with remote work permitted on Fridays.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating interviews, supporting recruitment processes, or managing employee lifecycle administration.
  • Familiarity with recruiting tools such as Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, or comparable systems.
  • Exhibit strong organizational capabilities and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrate a proactive and resourceful approach, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Show a genuine enthusiasm for developing a career in People & Talent.
  • Express a keen interest in creative industries, agency environments, and organizations that prioritize culture.

Compensation & Benefits

  • An annual base salary ranging from $80,000 to $90,000 USD, determined by experience, skills, and qualifications.
