About Xata
Xata is developing Postgres infrastructure designed for agentic workloads. As AI agents become a new class of software users, they require safe, isolated spaces to experiment, test, and run tasks. Xata helps organizations spin up Postgres branches instantly so each agent gets its own environment with production-like data, without adding major infrastructure expense or operational overhead.
The company is fully distributed, with a team of about 25 people spread across Europe and the United States. As the business expands, Xata is looking for a People Operations & Talent Lead to strengthen hiring, improve internal people systems, and support a culture where strong teams can thrive.
The Role
This position owns both talent acquisition and people operations at Xata.
On the hiring side, the role focuses on sourcing, engaging, and closing outstanding candidates across engineering, product, go-to-market, and leadership functions. You will partner closely with hiring managers to keep improving the recruiting process and the experience candidates have throughout it.
On the people operations side, you will help design and run a high-quality employee experience across the entire lifecycle. That includes onboarding, performance management, compensation review cycles, benefits, compliance, and team development.
The role offers a high degree of autonomy and ownership. Xata is seeking someone who enjoys creating systems from the ground up, refining how companies work, and supporting growth while preserving a healthy culture.
What Xata Is Looking For
- Substantial background in recruiting, people operations, or talent leadership within technology businesses.
- A strong history of bringing in excellent talent, especially for technical positions.
- Hands-on experience across the full employee journey, including onboarding, performance processes, compensation, and offboarding.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced startup setting where ownership is expected.
- A highly self-driven and proactive approach, with the ability to spot opportunities, suggest improvements, and see them through.
- Solid organization and project coordination skills.
- Excellent writing ability and the capacity to collaborate effectively in a remote-first environment.
- Experience supporting distributed teams across several countries is an advantage.
