Role summary
This role is centered on keeping the employee experience running smoothly through dependable HR operations across the entire employment journey. It supports employees and managers with fast, accurate handling of HR requests, while also safeguarding the quality of HR data and transactions in core systems.
The position is based in the United States and is posted for a partner organization that oversees all applications and hiring steps. The work environment is quick-moving, detail-focused, and service-led, with a strong emphasis on responsiveness and consistency.
You will work closely with colleagues in Payroll, IT, Legal, and Talent Acquisition to keep processes moving without disruption. A key part of the role is also improving workflows, strengthening self-service content, and helping make HR services more efficient at scale.
Key accountabilities
- Handle first- and second-level HR operations questions, resolving issues promptly or routing them to the right team when escalation is needed.
- Support the complete employee lifecycle, including onboarding, offboarding, role changes, terminations, and related documentation.
- Process HR transactions accurately in HR platforms such as Workday while following established policies and procedures.
- Partner with Payroll, IT, Legal, and Talent Acquisition to solve operational issues and maintain smooth service delivery.
- Spot process gaps, support automation efforts, and contribute ideas that improve HR workflows.
- Keep HR reference materials, job aids, and self-service resources current and useful for employees and managers.
- Assist with audits, compliance work, and recurring HR programs such as performance review cycles and policy launches.
- Help coordinate onboarding for U.S.-based employees, including ensuring I-9 compliance and a compliant start experience.
- Support immigration-related tracking and documentation in collaboration with internal teams and outside counsel.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in People Operations, HR Operations, shared services, or HR systems support.
- Strong practical experience using Workday HCM, including transactions, workflows, and data checks.
- Background supporting employee lifecycle processes in a high-volume, fast-paced HR setting.
- Working knowledge of HR compliance, audit support, and operational reporting.
- Excellent attention to detail, analytical thinking, and troubleshooting ability.
- Comfort handling confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and discretion.
- Strong service orientation with a focus on employee experience and timely response.
- Experience with U.S. onboarding, including employment eligibility verification through I-9.
- Exposure to immigration coordination is considered an advantage.
- Experience with HR ticketing tools such as Jira and with HR knowledge bases or AI-assisted tools is preferred.
