Job description

Role overview

MECCA is seeking a commercially aware and flexible People & Education Manager to join its People & Education function and support important areas of the Support Centre. This is a fixed-term position running through to September 2027.

The role works closely with senior leaders and executive leadership stakeholders to help shape people programs, support organisational change, manage HR casework, resolve employee relations matters, and contribute to talent strategies in a busy, fast-changing environment.

What you'll do

  • Act as a reliable HR partner by supporting day-to-day people operations, the employee lifecycle, and employee relations, while also guiding leaders on hiring discussions, team design, ways of working, performance issues, feedback conversations, and workplace concerns.
  • Work alongside leaders to deliver department-level people initiatives such as Pulse survey action planning, team workshops, talent reviews, succession planning, and annual pay review processes.
  • Assist with change activities across the organisation, including restructures, internal communications, and shifts in operating models or ways of working.
  • Help run recurring people processes such as performance review cycles, calibration discussions, talent mapping, and broader People team programs.

What you should bring

  • Background in HR Business Partnering, People & Culture, or Employee Relations roles, ideally within large organisations or high-growth businesses.
  • Strong capability in managing stakeholders and influencing outcomes, including working with senior leaders and executive leadership teams.
  • Practical experience across HR partnering and employee relations, including hiring support, identifying talent, onboarding coordination, coaching for development, performance management, grievance handling, and complex workplace issues.
  • Experience contributing to change programs and people initiatives in dynamic environments.
  • The ability to juggle strategic projects alongside urgent operational work across several stakeholder groups.

Working at MECCA

MECCA describes its culture as customer-focused, values-driven, collaborative, innovative, adaptable, and solutions-oriented, with a healthy sense of fun.

Benefits and perks

  • Access to professional development programs and a modern digital learning platform.
  • Health and wellbeing initiatives.
  • Recognition and reward programs.
  • Eligibility for bonus and incentive schemes.
  • Quarterly product allowance.
  • Generous team discount for employees and their immediate family, plus additional product allowance, subject to company policy.
  • Other opportunities to feel connected to the broader MECCA story through celebrations, surprises, and team recognition.
