Job description

About the company

OAG is a long-established intelligence partner for the global travel sector, helping the industry turn complex information into clearer decisions. For almost 100 years, the business has been relied on as a trusted source across the travel ecosystem.

It brings together extensive data, strong technology capabilities and deep sector knowledge to deliver more useful answers rather than simply more information. Its work supports airlines, airports, technology firms and financial institutions with operational insight and strategic support.

The company is also building AI into its intelligence platform, combining decades of proprietary data with modern technology to surface answers that were previously out of reach. Its purpose is to help travel move the world by making complexity easier to understand.

About the role

This fixed-term People & Culture Operations Specialist position is based in Luton and sits within the wider People & Culture team, reporting to the Director of Reward & People Operations. The role supports employee experience across eight global locations and is central to making sure people processes run smoothly.

You will be the main contact for employees and managers on a range of operational matters, including payroll, onboarding, HR systems and compliance. The role calls for someone who can deliver accurate information quickly, keep people data reliable, and help employees feel supported from their first day through to departure.

What you'll do

  • Manage payroll administration for UK and European locations from start to finish, coordinating directly with payroll providers so monthly pay runs are accurate, timely and compliant.
  • Serve as the first contact for employee and manager questions across eight global locations, giving clear, prompt and practical support.
  • Oversee the full onboarding and offboarding journey, including introductions, induction activities, work permit coordination and a smooth exit process.
  • Maintain clean, current and dependable HR data across all people systems so reporting and decision-making remain trustworthy.
  • Support employee benefit administration across several countries, working with providers and helping ensure regulatory requirements are met.
  • Improve self-service by keeping BambooHR and SharePoint content current, useful and easy for employees to access.
  • Create and update process documentation that supports consistent people operations across all OAG locations.
  • Identify friction in HR processes and introduce practical improvements that enhance the employee experience.
  • Contribute to P&C projects and initiatives while helping sustain a positive, inclusive working environment across OAG sites.

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience in HR operations, HR coordination or HR administration, with practical exposure to core people processes.
  • Confidence handling payroll administration accurately, ideally across more than one country or payroll provider.
  • A solid grasp of HR compliance and basic employment law, with an approach that keeps work audit-ready.
  • Comfort using HR systems and managing people data, with strong attention to accuracy and data quality.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain policies and processes clearly to people at all levels.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities, switch between tasks efficiently and stay organised under pressure.
  • A proactive, self-driven mindset and the willingness to spot and fix process issues without being prompted.

Nice to have

  • Experience working across multiple countries or jurisdictions, with awareness that employment and compliance rules can differ by region.
  • Familiarity with BambooHR or comparable HRIS tools.
  • Experience supporting relocation or work permit processes.

Benefits and offer

  • A progressive, low-hierarchy culture where innovation is encouraged.
  • Flexible working options, including remote working or office attendance.
  • A competitive pay and benefits package, including a Simplyhealth cash plan, company bonus scheme, Octopus EV salary sacrifice scheme and enhanced pension.
  • 25 days of holiday plus bank holidays, volunteering days and an extra day off during your birthday month.
  • Inclusive family support benefits for parenthood and fertility journeys.
  • Up to one month of remote work from anywhere in the world each year.
  • An annual learning and development budget.

Equal opportunity and adjustments

OAG is committed to building an inclusive workplace where people from all backgrounds can do their best work. If you need reasonable adjustments during recruitment, the team is open to discussing how they can support you.
