Role Overview
The People & Culture Manager will helm the strategic and operational HR functions throughout Australia, with a responsibility to also support the expanding US operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer, this role partners closely with executive leadership to craft and implement people strategies that drive business growth, leadership development, talent acquisition, and a strong values-based culture.
Leading a compact team of HR and Office Coordinators across Gold Coast and Melbourne, the manager will provide guidance, coaching, and ensure consistent positive experiences for employees and leaders alike. This role requires a blend of strategic influence and hands-on engagement across the entire employee lifecycle within a dynamic, innovation-driven setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with leadership to devise and execute People & Culture strategies aligned with company goals.
- Offer strategic consultation on organizational design, workforce planning, leadership growth, and succession plans.
- Drive talent attraction efforts nationally and internationally to retain top-tier personnel.
- Enhance Stacked Farm's employer brand and employee value proposition.
- Lead initiatives for organizational development, culture enhancement, and employee engagement.
- Provide expert guidance on employee relations, performance, workplace investigations, organizational transitions, and legal compliance.
- Manage annual compensation reviews, performance evaluations, and talent nurturing programs.
- Ensure compliance with People & Culture regulations across Australian states while supporting US employment, payroll, and benefits administration.
- Improve People & Culture systems, policies, workflows, and reporting continuously.
- Develop insightful people metrics to facilitate sound business decision-making.
- Guide and develop the HR & Office Coordinators teams at multiple sites.
- Build trusted partnerships at all organizational levels, fostering accountability, collaboration, and continuous enhancement.
- Oversee accurate and compliant payroll processes for Australia and the United States.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a seasoned People & Culture professional adept at collaborating with senior leaders to bolster engaged, capable teams and cultivate thriving work environments. Bringing a commercial and strategic mindset, this person balances high-level planning with practical execution in a fast-evolving climate, adapting quickly and prioritizing impactful actions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; postgraduate qualifications (MBA, Masters) highly valued.
- At least 10 years' experience in HR with significant senior leadership exposure.
- Proven track record partnering with senior leadership teams to achieve strategic HR outcomes.
- Experience managing and mentoring People & Culture teams.
- Familiarity with multi-site and multi-state organizational HR complexities.
- Proficient in building and deploying People & Culture strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Expertise in comprehensive talent acquisition processes, including technical, engineering, operations, and corporate recruits.
- Strong background in organizational development, leadership, and culture-building initiatives.
- Experience handling complex employee relations, investigations, and organizational change.
- Thorough understanding of Australian employment law, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
- Desirable experience supporting international teams or operations across several jurisdictions.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Highly organized with a passion for continuous improvement and attention to detail.
- Payroll knowledge, particularly Australian payroll regulations; familiarity with US or international payroll a plus.
- Must hold valid Australian work rights and reside on the Gold Coast, with occasional travel to Melbourne.
