About the role
Team Global Express helps keep New Zealand connected by supporting people, communities, and eCommerce movement. The People & Culture team is central to that mission, and this role is suited to an early-career HR professional looking for a practical position with genuine ownership and wide exposure across the business.
You will join a collaborative, high-performing team and have the chance to work beyond your core responsibilities to broaden your experience across multiple areas of People & Culture.
What you will do
This position supports the full employee journey and works closely with Payroll, Finance, and People Leaders to ensure smooth day-to-day operations across the organisation.
- Manage onboarding activities and end-to-end employment changes.
- Draft employment contracts and keep employee files accurate and current.
- Maintain the HR system, Workday, so records are clean and up to date.
- Assist with reporting and provide data insights for the business.
- Act as the main contact for People & Culture questions across the company.
- Provide light executive support to a small group of ELT members, including travel arrangements, expense support, and general administration.
What you will bring
You should be at an early stage in your HR career and ready for a broader, hands-on People & Culture role. Experience using Workday or another HRIS will be considered an advantage.
- Well-developed organisation skills and a sharp eye for detail.
- Ability to manage several priorities and stay across deadlines.
- A proactive, practical approach with a willingness to take responsibility.
- A mindset focused on continuous improvement and finding better ways of working.
- Confidence using systems and working with data, along with solid Excel skills.
- Strong interest in People & Culture and building a long-term career in the field.
