Job description

Role overview

This opportunity is being promoted on behalf of a partner organization that handles the application review and next steps. The hiring company is seeking a People & Corporate Operations Manager located in Canada.

In this hands-on position, you will support a fast-growing technology business by overseeing employee lifecycle processes, keeping corporate records and compliance materials in order, and helping internal operations scale smoothly. Working alongside leadership, you will strengthen people operations, improve administrative structure, and contribute to a collaborative, high-growth environment. This role is well suited to an experienced operations professional who enjoys building processes, creating order, and supporting both employee and business success.

Key accountabilities

  • Oversee the complete employee journey, including recruitment coordination, candidate screening, interviews, onboarding, performance review coordination, and exit processing.
  • Handle employment agreements, software access, equipment setup, payroll onboarding, and employee benefits enrollment in coordination with relevant internal teams.
  • Keep company policies current, deliver policy-related training, and manage compliance schedules covering employment standards, workplace safety, and privacy obligations.
  • Coordinate organization-wide initiatives such as the annual employee retreat and other important company events.
  • Administer employment contracts, contractor agreements, NDAs, and related legal documents, while working with external legal counsel and Employer of Record providers where needed.
  • Maintain intellectual property records, invention assignment documents, access restrictions, and corporate files to support compliance and audit preparedness.
  • Organize legal agreements and due-diligence materials in centralized document systems with clear structure and version control.
  • Help assess and introduce HR technology tools while partnering with leadership to improve operations and core business processes.

Requirements

  • 5 to 8 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, Corporate Operations, or a similar generalist function, ideally in a small or expanding organization.
  • Background in managing employment agreements and coordinating with external legal counsel on HR and corporate documents.
  • Demonstrated experience handling contracts, NDAs, corporate records, and confidential files with strong control over versions and access.
  • Excellent organizational ability and a practical approach to building efficient workflows and maintaining accurate records.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate independently in a remote setting.
  • High discretion and professionalism when working with sensitive employee, legal, and business information.
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience supporting international employees or contractors, including Employer of Record arrangements and cross-border employment practices, is an advantage.
  • Exposure to intellectual property administration in a software or technology environment is preferred.
  • Experience evaluating or implementing HRIS platforms is beneficial.
  • CPHR designation, or progress toward it, is a plus.

Perks and benefits

  • Full-time remote work available anywhere in Canada.
  • Annual compensation between CAD 85,000 and CAD 95,000, depending on experience.
  • Chance to establish and shape the company’s first dedicated People and Corporate Operations function.
  • Occasional travel for the annual company retreat and other key events.
  • Direct ownership and close collaboration with executive leadership.
  • Opportunity to contribute to the growth of an innovative technology company with international expansion.
  • Flexible remote environment that values autonomy, organization, and continuous improvement.

Additional information

The role may involve occasional travel for retreats and major company events.

The employer is building its first dedicated People and Corporate Operations function, so the position carries significant ownership and influence over foundational processes.

Data handling and selection process
