Job description
Role overview
This is a strategic People Business Partner position supporting General & Administrative teams within a rapidly expanding, remote-first technology company in the United States. The role partners with senior leaders across Finance, Business Operations, Legal, Talent, and Marketing to shape how these functions are organized, grown, and supported.
You will serve as a trusted advisor on people strategy, organizational effectiveness, talent decisions, and change leadership. The position combines hands-on execution with high-level partnership in an environment where speed, ambiguity, and growth are the norm.
Success in this role depends on strong analytical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to influence leaders at multiple levels. You will also help strengthen culture, engagement, and leadership capability across distributed teams.
Key accountabilities
- Work closely with G&A leadership to design and implement people strategies that support business goals, operational effectiveness, scale, and strong performance.
- Own or support organizational design and workforce planning, including headcount planning, team structure decisions, and long-range growth planning.
- Partner on talent programs across hiring, employee development, retention, succession planning, and leadership growth together with Talent and business stakeholders.
- Coach managers and senior leaders on performance management, accountability, feedback practices, and building a high-performing talent culture.
- Lead or support engagement and culture initiatives that reinforce company values and improve connection within distributed teams.
- Help leaders navigate change management during periods of transformation by improving clarity, alignment, and communication.
- Use people data and HR analytics to identify patterns, surface insights, and guide strategic decisions across the business.
- Ensure people practices align with U.S. and Canadian employment requirements while supporting a global workforce model.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of experience in People Operations or HR Business Partner roles, preferably supporting corporate or G&A functions in a fast-growing startup environment.
- Proven ability to partner with and influence senior leaders while delivering outcomes in ambiguous situations.
- Strong background in organizational development, including workforce planning, talent strategy, performance management, and employee engagement.
- Working knowledge of U.S. and Canadian employment laws and common people operations practices.
- Experience in scaling organizations with a high degree of adaptability, resilience, and execution focus.
- Comfort using HR platforms and performance tools such as HRIS systems like Rippling and tools like Lattice, along with data for decision-making.
- Excellent communication, coaching, and relationship-building skills across all levels of the organization.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving ability, and a proactive, action-oriented mindset.
Perks and benefits
- Base compensation of USD/CAD 155,000 to 175,000, plus pre-IPO equity potential.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage.
- Unlimited and flexible paid time off.
- Fully remote setup with flexibility to work from the United States or Canada.
- Opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a high-growth organization.
- Exposure to a collaborative, mission-driven culture and senior leadership.
- Additional benefits intended to support wellbeing and engagement.
