Job description
About the Role
This full-time pediatric occupational therapy position is based in a special needs center and runs from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. The role is suited to a mid-level professional who has practical experience supporting children with developmental, physical, and sensory difficulties, and who is committed to improving their independence and confidence in everyday life.
Responsibilities
- Carry out detailed occupational therapy evaluations for children with developmental delays and sensory processing concerns.
- Create, apply, and review individualized therapy plans aligned with each child’s needs, goals, and progress.
- Provide interactive therapy sessions aimed at strengthening fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and day-to-day functioning.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, behavior specialists, and teachers within a multidisciplinary care team.
- Train parents and caregivers on home-based programs, exercises, and methods to monitor improvement.
- Keep session records, progress updates, and treatment documentation complete and accurate.
- Take part in case discussions, team coordination meetings, and ongoing learning opportunities.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s degree or above in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution is required.
- At least 3 years of professional experience in occupational therapy, with direct exposure to pediatric and special needs cases.
- Solid knowledge of sensory integration, child development milestones, and behavior support strategies.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, plus the ability to develop positive relationships with children and their families.
