Role Overview
As a Payroll Specialist / Payroll Administrator, you will support payroll operations for employees in Germany and work closely with an external payroll service provider. The position also involves coordination with internal teams and external institutions, along with responsibility for payroll-related administration and system maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare the monthly payroll for employees in Germany so it can be processed by an external payroll partner.
- Review all payroll-relevant data, approve the final payroll run with the service provider, and handle any follow-up corrections.
- Manage accruals and coordinate closely with Accounting and Tax while serving as a contact point for authorities, auditors, and health insurance providers.
- Take ownership of reporting, certificates, and statutory notification processes.
- Maintain the time tracking system and other HR systems.
- Act as the first point of contact for employees regarding payroll and working time recording questions.
Candidate Profile
- Completed commercial training with an additional qualification in human resources, or several years of professional experience in payroll accounting.
- Solid knowledge of wage tax and social insurance law.
- Very good MS Office skills, especially in Excel.
- Strong written and spoken German and English skills.
- Highly analytical and well-structured way of working.
- Enjoys working in an international environment.
