Role overview
A nationally active, innovative B2B services company based near Göttingen is looking to strengthen its team with an experienced payroll professional. The position is designed for mostly remote work, with only one on-site presence per month required. This is a permanent role arranged through direct placement.
Your impact
- Take ownership of the operational and technical execution of monthly payroll for several legal entities, ensuring compliance with income tax, labour law, and social security regulations.
- Maintain, review, and reconcile payroll-related data in DATEV during day-to-day operations.
- Support the finance team by preparing relevant data, information, and reports.
- Act as a key professional contact, together with a colleague, for finance, external tax advisors, auditors, and social security bodies.
- Coordinate external payroll service providers, including partners in Austria, with careful oversight to keep processes consistent and quality high.
- Work closely with People and Finance teams to further develop payroll tools, reporting logic, and interfaces.
What we are looking for
- Several years of hands-on experience in payroll management, ideally within a medium-sized corporate group.
- Strong command of German payroll tax law and social security law.
- Confident use of DATEV Lohn & Gehalt is preferred.
- Ability to analyse complex topics, prioritise them, and communicate them appropriately to different audiences.
- Capability to take the lead on specialist topics when needed and drive them through to implementation.
- A self-directed, accurate, and dependable way of working.
- Very good German skills at least at C1 level, plus fluent English at least at B2 level.
