Role Summary
This fully remote Payroll Specialist position requires managing payroll processing tasks accurately and timely, adhering to company policies and payroll schedules across the organization. The candidate must pass a Payroll Specialist Assessment.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute payroll processing for employees enterprise-wide, ensuring adherence to policies and scheduled timelines.
- Examine and confirm accuracy of employee timekeeping records for correct payroll calculations and policy compliance.
- Manage payroll activities for employees on leave of absence, ensuring proper documentation and payment handling.
- Conduct payroll audits and reconciliation to detect and resolve discrepancies, guaranteeing accurate employee compensation.
- Update and maintain payroll and personnel data within HRIS and payroll platforms.
- Address employee payroll questions promptly, offering professional support and resolving issues.
- Assist in maintaining payroll documentation and ensure compliance with payroll requirements, safeguarding confidential employee data.
- Work closely with internal HR, Benefits, and Finance teams to support payroll operations and troubleshoot processing challenges.
- Identify and recommend enhancements to payroll accuracy, operational efficiency, and data integrity as part of continuous improvement efforts.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Minimum of one year relevant payroll experience.
- At least one year experience using Workday and UKG payroll systems.
- Proficient data entry skills.
- Experience performing payroll audits and reconciliation procedures.
- Capability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- Customer service experience, particularly responding to employee payroll inquiries.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
- Demonstrated eagerness to learn and grow professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
- More than two years of experience with Workday and UKG systems.
- Experience managing payroll across multiple states.
- Any certifications related to payroll processes.
- Certification in Workday payroll system.
