Job description

Role overview

IRIS Software Group is hiring a Payroll Specialist to join its Paycheck Plus team within Managed Payroll Services in Ireland. This is a client-facing bureau payroll position, not an internal company payroll role. The work involves taking full ownership of payroll delivery for external clients, with real accountability for accuracy, compliance, and timeliness each month.

The position is designed for someone who already understands outsourced payroll work and is comfortable managing multiple client payrolls in a structured professional environment.

Why this role matters

Payroll becomes visible only when something goes wrong, so getting it right is essential. In this role, you will be relied on to process payrolls correctly, on schedule, and in line with all compliance requirements. When you perform well, employees are paid properly, clients have confidence in the service, and the relationship strengthens.

Team environment

You will join the Paycheck Plus specialist payroll bureau team. The group includes around 10 experienced Client Payroll Executives and senior colleagues. Each team member manages their own client payroll portfolio, while still having access to support when needed. The culture values accuracy, accountability, and mutual support.

Key responsibilities

  • Run Irish payrolls from start to finish for a portfolio of different clients.
  • Prepare and submit monthly payrolls accurately and within required deadlines.
  • Work through payroll calculations, deductions, benefits, and related reporting tasks.
  • Ensure all activity meets Irish employment legislation, GDPR requirements, and internal company standards.
  • Serve as the primary contact for payroll questions raised by clients and their employees.
  • Develop trusted working relationships with clients through reliable service and clear communication.
  • Look for opportunities to streamline processes, improve efficiency, and increase automation.
  • Contribute to wider initiatives such as payroll system improvements and testing.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate will already have experience in a bureau or outsourced payroll setting and be confident handling payroll independently.

Additional notes

This is a real client delivery role with direct responsibility for monthly payroll output. The employer is seeking someone who takes pride in accurate, compliant work and can manage their own workload while contributing positively to a team.

Application process

The hiring process is described as fair and transparent. Candidates first submit an online application with a resume and a few basic details. This is followed by an initial interview with the talent team along with two assessments: a CCAT timed test lasting 15 minutes and an untimed EPP personality questionnaire. Final stage candidates complete a competency and technical interview on MS Teams with Client Payroll Team Leaders.

Leave it if you'd like a reply — we won't use it for anything else.
