Job description
The Position
A major listed employer has teamed up with Sharp & Carter to appoint an experienced payroll professional for its Brisbane-based operation in the western suburbs. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement and free parking on site.
In this position, you will be responsible for delivering payroll accurately and on time, while also providing responsive support to employees and managers. You will work closely with the wider business to build a solid understanding of awards, enterprise agreements, and more complex pay arrangements, and you will also contribute to ongoing payroll process improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Run weekly, fortnightly, and monthly payroll cycles with precision and accuracy.
- Review and investigate payroll outputs to ensure compliance with legislation, taxation, superannuation, and applicable awards.
- Prepare reconciliations, reporting, and other internal payroll-related deliverables.
- Work with HR on matters such as new starters, departures, remuneration changes, and award interpretation.
- Keep employee information accurate, manage archiving, and follow retention requirements.
- Assist with payroll system enhancements and broader continuous improvement activities.
Skills & Experience
- Background in processing medium to large-scale payrolls within a complex business environment.
- High level of accuracy, strong organisation, and the ability to work to strict deadlines.
- Clear communication skills and a cooperative, team-oriented style.
- Interest in building capability with technology and online systems.
