Role Overview
The Payroll Manager, based in Newcastle West, Limerick, is a key position responsible for managing payroll operations across multiple business units in Ireland and Northern Ireland. This fixed-term contract role (12-18 months) reports to the HR Director and leads a team comprising five Payroll Analysts and one Project Manager. Collaboration with HR Business Partners is integral to supporting seamless payroll functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage payroll processing for multiple entities in Ireland and Northern Ireland, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of data to external partners.
- Provide senior leadership with detailed compensation and reward cost analyses.
- Offer expert, impartial advice and coaching to management regarding rewards and benefits.
- Design and implement new variable pay plans and support annual incentive program updates.
- Maintain a network to stay informed on developments in rewards, benefits, legislation, and best practices ensuring the organisation’s offerings remain relevant.
- Handle monthly accruals, prepayments, analysis, and accounting postings related to compensation and rewards.
- Assist finance in preparing monthly statements and fulfilling annual audit requirements.
- Develop and update policies and procedures related to payroll and rewards as necessary.
Candidate Requirements
- Demonstrated experience managing payroll in large, complex, multi-site environments.
- Proficiency in operating Irish and UK payroll systems.
- Relevant payroll qualification such as IPASS or equivalent.
- Experience with computerized Time & Attendance systems.
- Thorough understanding of employment law as it pertains to rewards and pensions.
- Skilled in communicating reward initiatives effectively.
- Proven ability to lead projects involving multiple stakeholders.
- Strong consultancy capabilities and relationship management skills.
- Analytical proficiency to interpret and extract insights from internal and external data.
- Advanced skills in Excel and HR system reporting.
