Job description
Role Overview
The Payroll Coordinator is responsible for executing accurate, punctual semi-monthly payroll processing for contractor resources employed by the client across the United States and other global regions including EMEA, APAC, MENA, and India. This role demands strict adherence to wage, hour, and tax regulations within all applicable jurisdictions.
Key Duties
- Manage comprehensive semi-monthly payroll operations for contractors on client payroll across US and associated countries.
- Gather, verify, and reconcile approved timesheets relative to contracts and pay rates before payroll deadlines.
- Precisely compute regular wages, overtime, bonuses, commissions, reimbursements, and deductions each pay period.
- Collaborate with Finance to ensure payroll funding availability and timely payment distribution.
- Maintain compliance with US federal, state, and local wage/hour laws and relevant international payroll guidelines, escalating issues to compliance/legal departments as needed.
- Coordinate with local payroll vendors, Professional Employer Organizations (PEO), and Employer-of-Record (EOR) partners for territories requiring in-country payroll management.
- Set up new employees in payroll systems alongside Onboarding teams and manage final payments and terminations with Offboarding staff.
- Address and resolve payroll inquiries and discrepancies professionally and swiftly.
- Keep meticulous payroll documentation and produce regular reports for Finance and HR leadership.
- Work with Finance to reconcile payroll figures against the general ledger each cycle.
- Handle statutory and voluntary deduction administration where applicable.
- Assist with year-end and statutory tax documentation, such as W-2/1099 forms or international equivalents.
- Stay informed on changes to payroll regulations across US states and other global regions to update internal policies.
- Support both internal and external audit processes with comprehensive and prompt documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or related disciplines.
- 2 to 5 years of experience processing payroll, ideally involving multi-state or multi-country payroll systems.
- Practical experience with payroll platforms such as ADP, Paychex, Deel, or comparable software managing semi-monthly payroll cycles.
- Familiarity with US payroll tax principles and wage/hour regulations including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
- Advanced competency with Excel and strong numeric accuracy to manage sizable datasets under strict deadlines.
- Ability to manage sensitive payroll information with strict confidentiality.
Preferred Qualifications
- Payroll processing experience within staffing or contingent workforce sectors.
- Knowledge of EMEA payroll administration or EOR models.
- Certification such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) is advantageous.

- Location: II Chundrigarh, Karachi Division, Sindh, Pakistan.
- Work hours: 5:45 PM to 2:15 AM local time.
